Easy Ways Of Candle Making

Easy candle making can be a hobby, and at the same time, can be a profitable business enterprise.  Making scented candles has become an art that involves aesthetic sense and sense of smell.

The three common waxes used in easy candle making are – the paraffin wax, the most common and least expensive;  Beeswax, non drip and smokeless but expensive; and soy wax- it’s a vegetable wax, natural, easy to clean up, but somewhat expensive.

Other ingredients and materials that you will need in easy candle making process are- scents, wicks, dyes, molds and pan- to melt your waxes and other ingredients. The wax ingredients can be mixture of several kinds of waxes. Beeswax and paraffin waxes are both oil soluble so they mix easily.

The waxes are weighted according to the right proportions that you prefer. In this part, you will need to perform a little experiment to get the ideal proportion and combination of the waxes; taking into consideration the factors of cost, texture, firmness and appearance. To reduce the cost of the candle, the paraffin wax volume must be increased; and in the same way, if you want to have more quality, you can increase the volume of the beeswax and other more expensive waxes.

Choosing the right scent is another tricky part of easy candle making. There are scents appropriate for certain occasions- life birthdays, weddings, baptisms or funerals. Normally, scents that are used in candle making are essential oils like- lavender, jasmine, rose, orange, lemon, bergamot and many others.

Again in here you need to experiment on the blend you prefer that will also be right for the occasion. When you discover it for yourself, you can give a personal touch on your candles. Again, blending of these essential oils will be based of the cost factor of the oils, and their appropriateness for the particular occasion.

Another important factor to consider in easy candle making is the dye you will use to color your candles. Again appropriateness of the color is a vital factor in choosing the right shade of tint. Shape of the candles has sometimes transformed it into artworks, if done right. The delicateness of the design, and its being complicated, add considerably to the market value of the candle.

After you have determined those factors above, then you can start the easy candle making procedure properly.

After you have weighted the right proportion of the wax mixture, and the right concentration of the dyes solution, you can now place all these ingredients in an appropriate melting pan.

This melting pan must be placed in a bigger pan containing water. This method will allow indirect heating of the ingredients to prevent burning of the waxes at a very high temperature. The burner must be adjusted so that the heat will just be sufficient to melt the waxes. Overheating the wax mix will discolor or burn it.

Then, the melted wax is poured into appropriate molds to cool. When it is almost at room temperature, several drops of blended scents are sprayed on the slightly hot wax. Mixing the scents or essential oils in a very hot wax must be avoided because it will just evaporate and leave the candle without scent.

Afterwards, the candles are removed carefully from the molds and packed in attractive packaging materials.
Finally, the candles are ready for sale- and you can now make money through easy candle making.
